Examining the Impact of Innovation Forms on Sustainable Economic Performance: The Influence of Family Management

The aim of this research is to explore the effect that innovation, as a potential source of sustained competitive advantage and firm growth, has on the achievement of sustainable economic performance. In particular, this paper empirically examines the influence of four innovation forms (intramural R&D, extramural R&D, product innovation, and process innovation) on firms’ sustainable economic performance, considering the moderating effect of family involvement in management. To test the hypotheses, random-effects regression analyses are applied to a longitudinal sample of 598 Spanish private manufacturing firms throughout the 2006–2015 period. The results show a negative effect of intramural and extramural R&D on sustainable economic performance and a positive effect of process innovation on sustainable economic performance. Moreover, a reinforced relationship between process innovation and sustainable economic performance is also revealed when family involvement in management acts as a moderator. The findings make several contributions to research and practice

Nuevos documentos inéditos y desconocidos de Rubén Darío: sobre "La Isla de Oro", el "Poema del Otoño" y los años de "Mundial"

This article studies and reproduces a group of documents that includes some hand-written and typed texts most likely authored by Rubén Darío, along with others where Darío’s authorship can be easily contested. These documents seem to have originated during the years of Mundial Magazine (1912-1914), and besides the interest for their probably unpublished nature, they also show the cooperation between Darío and his collaborators in the preparation of his original manuscripts right before being sent to the publishers.En este artículo se comenta y reproduce en parte un lote de documentos que incluye unos textos manuscritos y mecanografiados de casi segura autoría dariana y otros de autenticidad más dudosa. Este lote, cuyo origen parece estar en los años de Mundial (1912-1914), además de contener algunos poemas inéditos, incluye otros textos que mostrarían la cooperación entre Darío y sus secretarios o colaboradores en la preparación de los originales inmediatamente antes de ser enviados a la imprenta

Análisis multivariado de la adopción de tecnologías productivas de cacao: Evidencia de un estudio de caso en Colombia

[EN] Multivariate and ordered Probit models were used to study the determinants of the adoption and extent of adoption of agronomic practices among cacao farmers in Nariño, Colombia, with data from 353 farmers in the mountain region. Results suggest that farmers’ adoption decisions are made on a joint basis, further validating the use of a multivariate approach. The presence of illegal crops creates strong disincentives that affect the possibility of more significant technological improvements. Adequate access to agricultural technical assistance strongly increases rates of adoption. Evidence suggests that efforts are necessary to better target resource-poor farmers.[ES] Se usaron modelos Probit multivariado y ordenado para estudiar los determinantes de adopción e intensidad de adopción de prácticas agronómicas entre cacaoteros de la región de cordillera de Nariño, Colombia, partiendo de datos para 353 productores. Los resultados indican que las decisiones de adopción tecnológica suelen ser simultáneas, validando la aproximación multivariada. La presencia de cultivos ilegales supone una posible barrera de incentivos para lograr mejores indicadores de adopción. Acceso efectivo a asistencia técnica agropecuaria aumenta considerablemente las tasas de adopción. Autoestima colectiva y aculturación en inmigrantes ecuatorianos

Este estudio examina la relación entre la autoestima colectiva étnica y diferentes aspectos del proceso de aculturación en inmigrantes ecuatorianos residentes en Murcia. De acuerdo con el modelo bidimensional de aculturación, se prueba la hipótesis de la independencia entre el deseo de contacto con el exogrupo y el deseo de mantener el modelo cultural propio. Los resultados señalan que las mujeres quieren mantener su cultura más que los hombres y éstos comportarse como los españoles. Asimismo, se observa que la edad y el nivel de estudios influyen sobre la autoestima privada, el contacto con ecuatorianos y la distancia cultural percibida. Los resultados se comentan con relación a la tradición de investigación de género e inmigración y al modelo bicultural de aculturación.This study examined the relationship between the ethnic collective self-esteem and the process of Ecuadorian immigrants’ acculturation in Murcia (Spain). In accordance with the bidimensional model of acculturation, the hypothesis of the independence between the contact with the outgroup and maintenance of the own ethnic identity is proven. This hypothesis obtains a partial confirmation. The results show that the women want to maintain their culture more than men and these to behave as the Spaniards. Also, it is observed that the age and the level of studies influence on the private self-esteem, the contact with Ecuadorian and the perceived cultural distance. The results are discussed in relation to gender immigration studies and the bicultural model

El espacio urbano y territorial se ven inmersos en diversas tendencias basadas en la desagregación y que suponen una disociación clara entre el hábitat y el habitar, fruto de un fenómeno de crisis que supone la disolución de la forma asociada al crecimiento urbano.
